A Different Way is a new Daryl Beeton Productions project in development, which we are currently fundraising to realise in 2019/2020.
The aim is to address the lack of representation by Disabled Artists within the Theatre for Young Audiences sector by demonstrating new approaches to creating work for young audiences by Disabled theatre makers that places the voice of young Disabled people at the heart of the creative approach. A Different Way will support the growth and development of the Theatre for Young Audiences sector in their approach to making work WITH rather than FOR Disabled young people.
Where is the cultural and creative exchange happening between Disabled artists and Disabled and non-disabled audiences? How are we encouraging Disabled theatre makers to make work for young audiences? And what are the barriers from preventing them doing so?
