A Different Way is a project led by Daryl Beeton Productions, with core partners Half Moon Theatre, Spark Arts for Children, New Wolsey Theatre and Mimbre with supporting partners Graeae Theatre Company, Attenborough Arts Centre and TYA UK, to support the growth of inclusive theatre for young audiences.
A Different Way will see the company research and develop three new shows for different age groups, delving into the nuances of access and inclusion in meaningful and entertaining ways
Look Mum, No Hands! R&D:
Look Mum, No Hands! is a new show aimed at 8-12 year olds led by Daryl Beeton, and London- based circus company, Mimbre Acrobats, in partnership with The Spark Arts for Children.
During this period of R&D we will explore a story of what it means to take risks as we gain independence and questioning our own preconceptions of others through acrobatics-based movement, whilst discovering new movement languages of our own.
We are looking for a female performer who is a wheelchair user to join our R&D creative team.
– Experience of dance/movement of physical theatre
– Experience of devising new work
– Not afraid to take risks
– A willingness to travel to London and Leicester
– A collaborative and exploratory working approach
– Previous acrobatic experience is not required
Dates – 2019:
– Monday 14th – Wednesday 16th October, Creative R&D Leicester
– Wednesday 6th & Thursday 7th November, Creative R&D, London
Travel, accommodation and subsistence will be provided were necessary.
